SEO in public · updated weekly

Watch me grow this sitefrom near zero, in public.

Most SEO advice comes with no proof. So I am showing my own: the real Google numbers for this site, what I changed each week, and what worked and what didn’t. Started 22 October 2026.

01 The numbers

Real figures.
Good weeks and bad.

From Google Search Console. A new row is added each week after I check it.

02 What I changed

Every change,
dated.

  1. 25 Sep 2026

    Moved off WordPress

More than 460 old addresses mapped one by one: 35 posts kept, the rest redirected to their new home or marked gone (410) so Google drops them cleanly. Analytics and verification codes carried over.

  2. 14 Oct

A free tool people can test

The careers guide: ten everyday tasks for nine professions, with AI to try on each. Something a reader can check, not just read.

  3. 20 Oct

    Fixed every 'page not found'

Old AMP copies, dated links and typo addresses now redirect. The not-found page fixes capital-letter slips itself and suggests the closest page.

  4. 20 Oct

    Pillars and clusters

An AI consultant pillar page with supporting articles, and topics Google already showed brought back as better articles at the same addresses.

  5. 20 Oct

    Value-based pruning

Seven thin posts merged into stronger pages, one factually wrong post rewritten, stale sitemaps removed, the current sitemap resubmitted (63 pages).

  6. 22 Oct

    Trust fixes and this page

Dated, consistent facts (business since 1990, websites since 2000), unverifiable claims removed, security headers added, and this public log started.

03 What I am testing

Four questions,
measured in public.

  1. Do restored articles win back their searches?

Old posts Google already showed (server-side scripting, web design vs development) were rewritten at the same address. Measure: impressions for those pages over 4 weeks.

  2. Can a new pillar page earn its first impressions?

The AI consultant page started at zero on 20 Oct. Measure: first impressions and position for 'AI consultant' searches within 8 weeks.

  3. Does a free course reach students abroad?

Google Trends shows the most interest per person in AI courses in Singapore, then the UAE. Measure: impressions from those countries for the free AI course page.

  4. Do AI assistants start citing the site?

Checked monthly in Bing Copilot, Perplexity and Google AI answers for ten fixed questions. Measure: how many cite this site by month three.

04 Questions

Straight
answers.

Why publish your own numbers?

Because anyone can claim SEO results. Real numbers from my own site, good weeks and bad, are something you can check, and they show exactly how I work.

Where do the numbers come from?

Google Search Console for ravinderkhurana.com: impressions (times shown in Google), clicks and average position. Analytics is not used for these, because it only counts visitors who accept cookies.

What will you never do for rankings?

Buy links, post fake reviews, create thin copies of pages for different cities, or publish AI text nobody has read. Those shortcuts tend to cost more later than they win.

How long does SEO take to show results?

New pages usually need weeks to be indexed and months to rank for competitive searches. This page is here so you can see that timeline happen, honestly.
